The JB for Governor Campaign is seeking a Platforms Associate: Long-Form Content to create and publish timely, engaging content that capitalizes on news, trending conversations, long-term campaign priorities and messaging, and real-time opportunities across digital platforms. This role will create, draft, and publish content for platforms including YouTube, Facebook, and Substack.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent news judgment, and can quickly create platform-native content while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, and strategic messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day content creation, publishing, and community engagement on YouTube, Facebook, and Substack.
- Work closely with the communications team to write, edit, and manage the campaign's Substack newsletter, including growing the subscriber base and maintaining a consistent publishing cadence.
- Develop YouTube content strategy for assigned projects, including writing video descriptions, titles, tags, and designing thumbnails optimized for search and discovery.
- Craft long-form Facebook posts, manage Facebook-specific content and community engagement, and identify opportunities for deeper storytelling on the platform.
- Collaborate with video production staff on YouTube content planning, scripting support, and publishing.
- Plan and maintain editorial calendars for long-form content across assigned platforms.
- Track content performance and audience growth metrics to inform content strategy and identify what resonates.
- Stay updated on platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging best practices for long-form digital content.
- Contribute to cross-team projects and support other campaign digital needs during high-priority moments, including event coverage and content production.
About You
- You understand how longer-form digital content works — from YouTube videos and Facebook posts to newsletters and editorial-style writing.
- You are a strong writer who can adapt tone and format for audiences that engage differently than on fast-paced platforms.
- You pay attention to storytelling structure and know how to hold attention across longer content formats.
- You are comfortable with editorial planning and can think ahead about content calendars and series.
- You are organized and can manage multiple content deadlines while maintaining quality.
- You communicate clearly and professionally, especially when coordinating across teams.
- You are comfortable experimenting with emerging platforms and formats like Substack and long-form YouTube.
- You understand that political campaign work often requires flexibility, including occasional long hours or weekend work.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce accurate content under tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms and emerging digital trends.
- Experience with social publishing, monitoring, and analytics tools.
- Basic graphic design and short-form video editing skills are preferred.
- Strong judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours when major news or events require rapid content development.
- Experience managing social media or digital communications.
- Experience with newsletter platforms (e.g., Substack, Mailchimp) or YouTube content management is a plus.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and content optimization for search and discovery is a huge plus.
